RAF Brize Norton to accept delivery of new Voyager and A400M aircraft

Two new Voyager and two new A400M aircraft will be delivered to RAF Brize Norton, Defence Secretary Michael Fallon has confirmed.

The A400M aircraft is scheduled to eventually replace the Hercules fleet, with the arrival of two new aircraft bringing the total number at the base to seven.

Announcing the delivery of the A400m aircraft, Fallon confirmed the continuing investment of £366 million to support the training facilities at Brize, with a second A400M flight simulator set to be installed this year.

In addition to the A400M aircraft, two new Voyagers will also be delivered over the next few months to ensure full operational capability of the Voyager fleet until the aircraft go out of service in 2025.

Fallon said: “The arrival of two new Voyager and two new A400M aircraft here at Brize, supported by a £366 million investment in world class training facilities, will allow the RAF to continue carrying troops and equipment on operations around the world.”
